XiC: Star Guard

Previously the Interstellar Naval Armada of XU, the Star Guard have since been relegated to a secondary support role for domestic and local skirmishes, with reduced usage in deep space and militaristic engagements. Star Guard has primarily been financed by older military contracts in PFU and received substantial upgrades by High Kosmosis. Much of their tech remains outdated, and numerous scandals of defective equipment and sabotaged gear manufactured by Byte Industries have given Star Guard a rather substandard reputation.

As the primary peace guardians of intergalactic security, the Star Guard operates under the authority of Xi’s Council. They are responsible for enforcing galactic laws and defending the galaxy against threats from within, as opposed to the High-Fleet which deals with military matters outside. Star Guard's fleet is a diverse mix of both new and old vessels, ranging from sleek, high-speed fighters to massive battleships bristling with weapons. Their weaponry is primarily electronic based and still uses classical Xi-Gravitron engines. However, due to funding cuts and political pressures, many of their ships and equipment are outdated and in need of upgrades. Despite these challenges and their 2nd rate reputation, the Star Guard remains a formidable force in the galaxy, with highly skilled pilots and soldiers trained in a variety of combat techniques and technologies. They work closely with other military and peacekeeping organizations, such as Glitterkiss, the Llavalite Love Foundation, and the Reclamation Knights, to ensure the safety and stability of Xi.

Their ships include:
Phalanx Class: A heavily armored and armed battleship designed for frontal assaults and engaging enemy vessels head-on. The Phalanx Class features multiple missile batteries, anti-matter torpedoes, and plasma cannons. The standard warship of Star Guard’s fleet produced en masse.

Savior Class: A medical support vessel designed to provide aid to wounded, stocked with medical staff, engineers, MAL-SHEEP salve foam and rations. The Savior Class features state-of-the-art medical facilities, including operating rooms, intensive care units, and cryogenic chambers to preserve injured pilots until they can be transported to more advanced medical facilities. They’re one of them most utilized units when the High-Fleet calls for Star Guard aid.

Comet Class: A very fast and agile striker fighter designed for quick hit-and-run attacks on enemy vessels with light payloads and rapid-fire bolter shots. The Comet Class is equipped with electro-AMP disruptors from High Kosmosis, making it an effective anti-ship weapon.

Dove Class: A stealthy reconnaissance vessel designed to infiltrate enemy territory and gather intelligence, aswell as useful for rescue missions. The Dove Class is equipped with advanced sensor suites, cloaking technology, and a crew trained in covert operations. The Star Guard’s equivalent of Gravewatchers.

Star Paw: A small, nimble fighter craft designed for dogfighting and aerial combat. The Star Paw is armed with light laser cannons and missile launchers, and its compact size and advanced maneuverability make it a challenging target for enemy pilots.

Bubbleship: A specialized transport vessel designed to transport important personnel and equipment, carries spherical gravity shielding. The Bubbleship features a reinforced hull, shield generators, and a powerful engine to ensure safe and speedy transport. Said to be the most comfy and ‘cuddly’ ship in all the Star Guard.

Silent Shaker: A long-range artillery platform-ship designed to provide long-range support for surface bombardment. The Silent Shaker features multiple large-caliber cannons and missile launchers, and its advanced orbiting targeting systems allow it to strike terrestrial targets with pinpoint accuracy.

Calypso: The Calypso is a large, heavily armed and armored ship, and its sectional design allows it to be reconfigured for different missions. Carrying a large crew, it’s nearly the largest payload and most potent class of war-ready vessel in Star Guard’s fleet.

ATLAS Warhammer: A gift from ATLAS, the decadent Warhammer unit is armed to the teeth from top to bottom and carries three state of the art neutronic-cores that make it quicker and heavier charged than other ships relative to is size. Rivaled only by the Avasceros, the Warhammer is a symbol of prestige for electronic, non-organic craftsmanship due to the quality of its capabilities.

Lightholde: A massive planetary-sized defensive platform and citadel designed to protect key installations and fleets within Xi from enemy attacks. The Lightholde is armed with powerful energy shields and loaded with turrets. Its staff are able to request reinforcements at any time, making it a formidable obstacle for any attacking force. Although larger than the Mourning Moon, it lacks the mobility, effectively stationed near the civic center regions of Xi.
