XiC: Era of Chaos, aka Void Era

The Voiden Era of Xi was one of dissolution and disarray, to put out a massive understatement. After Sandra’s leave from Xi, the Ximperium quickly found itself fractured into multiple fractions. As she departed, she left in total disarray a Void. With its leadership unable to contain the threat of a potential coup of its own people, the people became divided into three factions, each with their own agenda. The Elderdragons would fight with the scraps of Xi attempting to re-establish it in their own vision, hoping to render hegemony and significance over the others with economic military pressure. The economy and trade stagnated. Cascade activity dramatically increased with the destruction of the Embryo Trigger, and the galaxy continually became politically unstable. Rebel groups swiftly emerged while the Xi military became a shadow of its former self. Many became bandits. Within two centuries, the warring Elderdragons since disappeared and were shunted for military juntas trying to maintain any semblance of order still permissible among the warlords and bandits. Company life in Xi became unbearable without a protective High Fleet to guard trade routes, maintain powered Warp Station politicians to establish fair trading practices among partners. The confining reality of Xi was a multitude of organizations and factions attempting to assert control over the coming millennia. The pernicious, cultivating and ever-thinning forces of the self-destructing Xi were being fought over like never before, both between internal forces and external, and the balance between the factions were almost impossible to maintain.

Xi became a living battleground between the power of commerce and military might. In the early days, the Void began. It was a chaotic time, but there was a common purpose. The Void Era was the dialect slow crawling sequence towards a re-united Xi, a united Xi that could reclaim its economic importance and trade routes once again, while at the same time, could defend itself against new threats that only a united Xi could bring forth. The emergence of new phenomena from the Cascade presented more danger than ever, the dissolution of the Merchant Guild opened up to crime and mobsters, and the asserted onlooking gaze of Xi’s neighboring galaxies bore a sense of dread and paranoia throughout the stars.

Many Xi refugees headed to Harvest and Sagtita, not only for protection, but for a new beginning. The neighboring Blackwind comparisons were inevitable, with unending division and war present all throughout Xi’s oldest galactic partner. The economy was plagued by inefficiency and shortages, making it difficult for people to access basic goods and services. Rationing was common, and lines for basic necessities like food and clothing were long. Many people struggled to make ends meet, and poverty was widespread. VE Xi also suffered from a severe overpopulation due to the refugee influx from various planets, the lack of stable terraforming infrastructure, and without proper societal planning, with many species forced to live in overcrowded and substandard conditions all across. Abandoned Lots and landfills were scavenged by populations for their massive archive of resources in the absence of sustainable fresh goods or manufacturing.

The revival of any semblance of Xi came in the gaps of a long and treacherous struggle, in which a series of groups emerged to hold enough military, economic, scientific and educational power to put aside the ongoing discord and steer the directionality of the galaxy. Prior to this, the existing provisional government existed as the Galactic Alliance, a federation of military coalitions able to pack together enough enforcement to get a working dialog from Xi’s existing political struggles. These came through four main factions.

Star Charity

Society of Aeroastral Dynamosis

Paramor Frontia United and their Llavalite allies, The Society of Domestic Mindfulness and The Blades of Ampora

High Kosmosis and Atlas’s corporate alliance

The first faction was the Star Charity, a group of philanthropic individuals who aimed to alleviate the suffering of the people in Xi. They provided humanitarian aid and relief efforts, such as distributing food and medicine to those in need. Their ultimate goal was to establish a fair and just society in Xi, one that prioritized the well-being of its citizens. Star Charity’s primary goal was to discard to former authority-centered fashion of the previous Elderdragon system and create a democratic address which could guide Xi into stability and reform.

The second faction was the Society of Aeroastral Dynamosis, a group of Xi scientists and engineers who focused on advancing technology and space exploration. They believed that the key to reviving Xi's economy and trade routes was through innovation and the development of new technologies, having studied the Cascade and its entering influence from the Reservoir hyperchamber able to simulate its wavelengths. They worked tirelessly to develop new spacecrafts, terraforming technology, and advanced weaponry to protect Xi from external threats and provide a civic framework from which Star Charity could implement from an empirical vantage.

The third faction was the Paramor Frontia United and their Llavalite allies, Psychic alliance and Amporan Partisans lead a coalition of military leaders who aimed to restore order and stability in Xi. They provided security and protection to the people, and were responsible for maintaining law and order throughout the galaxy. They were a force to be reckoned with, and their presence alone deterred many potential threats to Xi's stability.

The final faction was High Kosmosis and Atlas's corporate alliance, leading a large group of powerful business leaders who focused on revitalizing Xi's economy and trade routes. They invested heavily in infrastructure development, such as building new Warp Stations and terraforming planets to support the growth of new industries. They also established fair trading practices with neighboring galaxies and worked on improving diplomatic relations, which helped to increase Xi's access to new markets and resources. Despite their differences, these four factions found common ground in their desire to revive Xi and establish a new, united society. Together, they worked to overcome the challenges of the Void Era and lay the foundation for a brighter future. While their journey was fraught with difficulties and setbacks, their persistence and determination ultimately paid off. With their combined efforts, Xi was able to rise from the ashes of the Void Era and become a galactic power once again.

After nearly ten centuries, the Void ended and the Xi’an Empire re-emerged in its glory. However, there were still numerous problems they had to grapple with and grow around.
