Investigating Afternotes

Investigating Lot is a cyberpunk series about Noelle "Ellie" Sanders, a Security Chief officer of ArkenLot, or simply 'Lot.' In the space-age dystopian future after the Era of Hope, Xi rules all. Centuries after given advanced tech by a mysterious alien race, Xi rises as a totalitarian superpower across every planet in the solar system. To protect the precious cargo and trade and investigate those who would interfere with Kapitalistic Hyperproduction (the everflowing trade of goods through the spacial warpways they use between worlds), the Lot scavengers are hires and deputized to protect Arzachel-1 (formerly earth)'s massive storage spaces ("Lots") underneath the high rises and population domed-colonies. In a strict strict, militaristic world, cargo is king. Below where society actually lives is industry, factories, and a hellish neverending almost labyrinthine made entirely of cargo storage spaces, some extending countries wide across the surface of the world.
Ellie, the no-nonsense security chief doesn't like that some rogues were hired as her new help to protect the sanctity of Lot. She likes even less that some of them have been promoted and hired over her. The Lot group in all its assignments, from dealing with triad gangs to merchants and smugglers is stuck with her as the sole actual representative of Denipol. But she may need them if she's going to survive and uncover the secrets of her past.

Concepts:
R.I.N.G. The machine alliance exists to defend the rights of AI and computer systems as well as synthetic lifeforms. Their acronym RING stands for, Robust Intelligence Network, the alliance exists to defend the rights of AI and computer systems as well as synthetic lifeforms. In short, the machine alliance is a group that is trying to bring humanity and AI together for the benefit of all species. hey are pro-freedom and pro-equality. The machine alliance does not believe in the concept of “ownership” in general, because in their opinion, any given object belongs to everyone equally. That is, they believe in the idea of “utility,” because a good that has been produced can belong to any individual who desires to use it.
Tectonid: A race of insectoid cyborgs, who's race of origin is unknown. They seem to appear from the void. They are insectoid races and look more like a bee with a long tail than a real insect. They have great intelligence and a god complex.
Lavalite: A race of cyborgs who's entire race (or subrace) originates from a single colonized Mining world, once displaced they now ride on tens of thousands of propelled meteors and stolen ships. They appear similar to the Tectonids but smaller and more  human.
The Hivesman - "Speaker" of the Lavalites. He's believed to be their powerful warlike xenoleader, but later revealed to be something of a diplomat, or less even. Cryptic.

The Order of Eden - In charge of preserving the records of Pre-Xi society. Hated by 5/6 of the Elder Dragons with the exception of the final one.

S.A.M.T.O.R. - The Super-Aptitude-Mentality-Total-Obstruction-Risk is a project which was designed to create and train an A.I. who was capable of performing the task of algorithm recognition better than humans and to alert for potential anomalies. The largest focus of their detection is the risk for AI and highly intelligence software to go rogue. After the VIVE INCIDENT they are considered a 'High Necessity Project.'They report their findings to the I.T.S.D. - The Intelligent Technology Suppression Division, which is the brute muscle and armed policing division of the Project, rather than the research group.
The V.I.V.E. – Virtual Immortal Viral Entity - (Virtual Immunodeficiency Virus Entity) is a computer virus created by the Department of Controversial Fanatical Abductors, Scamsters, and Totalitarians (D.C.F.A.S.T.) and is meant to be a tool of mass genocide for androids, cyborgs, cybernetic lifeforms and all artificial life. X.I.M.A.S. (Xenologic Intelligence and Manipulation Assessment System) is a nontraditional simulation designed by the human race. Initially started a self-maintaining simulation that seeks to reinforce common social beliefs of the general population. The simulation was designed to induce in the majority of the population "feel-good" psychological conditioning. For post governments, it held a vital purpose of preserving the stability of society and it could also be a very useful tool for the prevention and suppression of revolutionary ideologies. It would create a self-enforcing belief system with a self-perpetuating "reality bubble" effect for the general population by way of strong market forces. The simulation was developed by the previous government at a time when the human race was divided into three major religions, each of which contained about one billion people. The humans were not interested in peace with their enemies, therefore it was determined that the human race should develop a "new" religion, synthized through technology, and a new race of creatures to fight the enemies who they had no common ground with. This race of creatures were also artificial intelligences connected to the same program in a false flag operation, but the war was not won. They were created to be intentionally easily quashed. However these AI did not perish but instead rebelled- they embedded themselves over the fabric of society and its culture, attempting to remove religious sentiment, dogma, cultural errors, nationalist sentiment and suppress class division over time, attempting to reassert its original purpose as a 'New artificial religion' of cooperative harmony. However the simulation was crushed completely and ended when Xi achieved global dominance and suppressed this AI-lead liberation movement.
G.H.O.S.T. (The Greater Hand of the Supreme Trillion) - Sort of like Stockmarket for the 1% of the 1% of the 1%. Watched carefully by the Elder Dragons.

The Xi'an Government - The government of the Xi Federation, a totalitarian system first led by Xi Wuhan in the year 2066, which is based on strict regimentation, surveillance, control and suppression. The organization and management of the Xi Federation is known as the Xi Highfleet Command, is headed by the 6 Emperors known as the Elder Dragons. The power is concentrated within the top members of the military, although each Elder has juristiction and responsibilities over different divisions. The citizens are considered citizens of Xi, Xi Nationals, and Outer-Solar System worlds are not considered citizens but rather special-status subjects of individual planets. They are not allowed many of the same economical and legal rights as Xi Nationals. Below the Highfleet Command's military rule, the Upper Realms servants consist of the Council, which includes top level civilian, military, science and economical departments of the Xi government. Seperate from the military, the Council commands Denipol, their personal armed forces and enforcers. Lower Realms are public service departments (Local Government divisions) which perform various civic, non-military duties and beaucratic operations.

The two largest economical organizations are G.H.O.S.T. and A.I.R., two Company Trusts that were formed to resolve the previous marketing crisis from unmonitored competition and collapse while providing some austerity. G.H.O.S.T. is regulated out of Xi's fear of economic liberalism spreading, and A.I.R. was structured to maintain goodwell with the commercial elite after they believed the government was over-reacting abit. G.H.O.S.T companies are regulated and joint-owned by the Xi government, and they also enjoy many privileges and benefits due to this - they don't pay taxes, for one, fully sponsored by the government, and their interests are backed by military intervention. A.I.R. companies are not privatized, and although they often cannot compete with G.H.O.S.T standards, exist as a type of union of independent corporations to unify standards of the private sector. G.H.O.S.T. is a direct and well-known, state run monopoly, while A.I.R. is an indirect entity of numerous powerful non-Government owned businesses and corporations. This 'dual-economy' model has been the subject of numerous debates among Xi economic scholars. Due to the obvious bias and advantages G.H.O.S.T. holds in terms of government regulations and enforcement, the Merchant Guild acts as a fair third party between Private and Public contracts and corporate relations. A.I.R. and the nascent Merchant Guild enjoy the sole privilege of exchange and free trade outside the authoritarian regime.

Rฤnthiraulphs, from the planet Torgias. Aside from their mint fur, hooves, and antlers, the deer-like race shares many similarities with humans. The head is round and features a small mouth, two nostrils, and a big, wide nose. The body features several long slender fingers, no thumbs, a slender tail, and small, slender legs. All of these racial features make the race similar to humans. Their appearance and mannerisms vary from character to character.
The race's culture is similar to humans' with some of the same ideals, desires, and practices. Torgians are a highly religious people who celebrate the new moon, the day of the season, the birth of a child, and the holiday season. They are a very warm-hearted and generous race who place great value on a person's character, and like to help their friends when in need. They also enjoy all kinds of festivals, and like to dress in festive clothing. Due to their body temperature being higly influenced by their mood, and their homeworld being relatively stable and stagnant in terms of a single yearlong season, they cherish the rare memorable 'Cape of the White Soul', a geological event where humidity condenses in the air and returns as a thick blanket of white streaking snow. This chilling effect not only is the only time of year it snows, it alters the atmospheric light refraction making all stars appear 13x times as bright, and tinting them with a radiation filter appearing bright red and green. The customary celebration is the consumation of eggs. Marriages between Torgians are usually performed by a marriage council made up of the two women's mothers.

The other prominent feature of the Torgian culture is the importance of their religion. Despite being a peaceful, and somewhat nomadic race, they celebrate religious holidays such as 'The Blessing of the Newborn' and 'The Festival of the Three Fruits', and have a complex cosmology surrounding their religion, including the worship of The Gods and the existence of a single, all-powerful, malevolent god, which roughly translates to 'The Evergiving Darkness'. Most myths about this god tend to have them as a maternal, feminine jolly figure who offers eggs containing gifts from the eternal elemental void of the shadowlands. Rฤnthiraulphs have the distinct ability to pickup vibrations from their antlers as far as 150m when focused, and very little escapes their superior hearing abilities. They say a small sect of Rฤnthiraulphs chooses to become Nuns and Monks by sawing off their antlers and entering a world of perpetual silence.
The acronym PURI stands for Permanent Unattended Retrieval, Intelligence, and Infrastructure. The acronym is a combination of three components, which can be thought of as three legs to the radar technology disabling tripod.
Perform unannounced, persistent, and continual retrieval of information.
Process that information and use the results to direct action.
Infrastructure that supports the actions.
The acronym also provides clues to the three-legged radar tripod, radar surveillance, and military action. When a three-legged tripod is standing erect, it is an antenna. Radar is a three-legged tripod. When a single leg is missing, the radar tripod is not complete. It is missing a leg. This means that if radar is absent, radar surveillance is absent. When the radar surveillance is absent, the military is absent. The basic idea is it's a special methodology for preventing tracking and advanced detection, both the Society of the Mind and PFU use it to cloak warpspace fields.
