XiC: Star Charity Era

The Xistress Union government, desperate to maintain control over a society having suffered a thousand years of galactic trauma and turmoil, implemented a series of austerity measures aimed at reducing spending and increasing productivity while presenting itself as a moral hyper-immediacy upon its citizens. However, these measures only exacerbated the existing problems in Xi. The foundations for XU’s policies were a civic of bureaucratic, elitist representation that delivered a planned economy and ‘trust the expert’s approach. Everything from the media civilians watched, to what profession you could join to the interface of your Compt phone was tightly regulated and rendered appropriate not in a dialog with the public, but only capitalizing on what felt like in-authentic processes of social control.

As the economy stagnated, unemployment soared and basic necessities became increasingly scarce even with the distribution of assigned jobs and material distributions. The XU citizens began to feel increasingly frustrated and disillusioned with their government, which seemed to be more concerned with maintaining its own power than with the well-being of its citizens.

Meanwhile, the XU leadership continued to preach the virtues of Virtual Identification, such as the freedom to consume one’s media, GalaNet channels and uniqueness to denote personality or perspective even as their policies were failing to deliver the promised benefits. Dissent was suppressed and political opposition was ruthlessly crushed, the dissatisfaction commonly repressed by the bureaucratic machinery of XU leading to a further erosion of trust between the government and the people.

As the years went by, XU's galactic government became increasingly corrupt and dysfunctional, with key positions filled by party loyalists rather than qualified individuals despite the promises of egalitarianism and democracy. The result was a bloated and inefficient bureaucracy that was unable to respond to the needs of the people, out of touch with the corporate sector that it, itself attempted to manage and made of mostly a cohesive clique of privileged elites, predicated from the input of scientists, politicians, and bureaucrats to keep XU economically viable. This was coupled with an ever-increasing security apparatus encroaching that became increasingly unbearable with the lack of an unregulated mass-corporate free-market, as opposed to the dual model of classical Xi and the riches the Merchant Guild would be romanticized for.

Despite these failures, the XU continued to hold onto power, clinging to the belief that their socialist ideology would eventually lead to a better future for Xi. However, as the economy continued to deteriorate and social unrest reached new heights, it became increasingly clear that the XU's approach was not working. These cracks would demonstrate visibly when PFU found itself delivering an era of disillusioned sentiment, feeling the wranglers of the rebellion that once successfully ousted Xi into splinters was now given a recompence beneath its reputation, and squarely lacking in representation.

The government would find itself facing another civil war when PFU split and the dissident fraction attempted to oust the existing bureaucratic apparatus.

However, in terms of tendencies, XU left lasting markers that shouldn’t be discounted. As a uniting body, it was seen as an improvement over the previous fractured Xi as it went off the rails. And as a Galactic government, XU was credited for being a vibrant and unconventional force. Their leadership style could be characterized by a mix of passion, creativity, and unpredictability even amongst the inability to manage material distribution and growth for their constituents. Their policies and decisions would be geared towards promoting individualism and self-expression, and XU is largely credited for its embrace a wide range of cultures and ideas.

In terms of governance, XU government was known to prioritize transparency and accountability, and did seek to empower individuals to take an active role in shaping the galaxy's future. They were fierce advocates for galactic justice, and would use their power and platform to bring attention to issues of inequality, along with compelling and discrimination that. At the same time, XU was strongly focused on fostering cultural expression. They were enthralled with the arts and would seek to create a favorable environment for media businesses to thrive. The pop-music and idol scene found a renaissance of the scene and became something of a propaganda arm for XU’s own cultural apparatus. The clothes and fashion scene likewise would find itself invigorated, with limited supplies leading to a need for innovation in expression and aesthetic styles. Additionally, XU government would also place a high value on education, advancing science and research, investing heavily in technology to push the boundaries of what is possible, including harnessing the powers of the Cascade.

XU under the leadership of Star Charity would be known for its diplomatic willingness to engage with other galaxies and civilizations, something classical Xi always shirked at with its own Galanationalist stance. They would be a champion of intergalactic cooperation, and would work tirelessly to build bridges between different communities, species and cultures that Xi had long since shunned. And lastly the government would also place a high value on sustainability and environmental protection for new planets, recognizing the importance of preserving the galaxy's natural resources for future generations that previous industrial giants had ignored. While heavy limitations on terraforming did work symptomatically against overcrowding and over-population, in the end it did have benefits for the flora of countless worlds.

Overall, despite their sluggish bureaucrat shortcomings, XU would be a bold and visionary step into reclaiming the glory of Xi, committed to promoting freedom, creativity, and progress throughout the galaxy. The civilization they recovered was ripe for handing over to the Grand Magus to re-inherited.

Innerview Niconia, student of XU

I, Niconia slept in class today, teach was rattling about the evils and chaos of Xi centuries ago. 😴 In the relentless, sparkling merry-go-round that is XU, they pretend we are superior. 🌌 We know better, wiser, trendier things.💄You'd think living in a star-studded paradise would be a blast. 🚀 Well, it's... an experience. 😒

I started the day rolling out of my monochrome suite, as lunar luxe as a black hole is bright. 🌑 I passed up the Venusian Vogue getup everyone else is so mad for, opting instead for my standard attire. 💀 🕸️ In a world of cosmic color, there's something liberating about black. No one in this galaxy knows how to mourn properly. 🥀

Breakfast, you ask? Oh lol, just a delightful blend of energy-infused stardust and dark matter smoothie-cake. Tastes like sunshine and cosmic radiation. Yum. 😝(JK its gross synth-block nutrigram coated with sugar and food coloring 🤮)

Then, there's the Spectrum Synthesis Summit, this daily rainbow frenzy promoting...I don’t know, the joy of being a sparkling space unicorn or something. 🌈 It’s supposed to represent harmony, respect, and a celebration of diversity, but to me, it's more like a supernova of too-muchness. 😑 It's almost as if XU exists just so no one ever has to be excluded tbh. 🤷‍♀️🐢

OMG, and the government. Aren't they a hoot? 🏛️ If only they spent as much time governing as they do painting their faces for the holo-cameras and budgeting for their glittering, extravagant galas. It's superficiality on a galactic scale. 🎉

No word on Blackwind terrorist’s recent incursion? Gotta spend all those speeches to let’em know how tolerant they are of Llavalites 🫦 (Long as they leave their icky meteors 🤭) No budget for military! But somehow a million-times more cracking down on protestors and unions. ❌ ❌💸Welfare for citizens, not for workers! ✅

For totes ex. Zara and Kai-Li shared their opinion on the latest Holonet news and discussed their goals for the Galaxy. 🤓

What's to say about a society that has been forced to be a bit more frugal on some things than others? 🤔 What can be said about a society that tends to overlook the truly suffering and disadvantaged? 👉👈

Drama- possum much? 🎭 It's as if we're all living inside some interstellar sitcom where everyone's racing to deliver the punchline. In a galaxy that loves to laugh, I'm often the cosmic joke. 😏 Also, I ran into that Earthian, Vinitar awhile back, his earthish accent is soooo poshmosh! He’s training to join the Star Guard. 🚀 But, seriously, Vinny just looked so cut to the core, and I totally get why! Swoon XOXOXO!! #DayumHeHot

What it is, you guys, is I just got to chill, and I'm okay with that. I just want to soak up and, like, live the moment while it lasts.

So that's XU. A symphony of too-bright lights, too-loud noises, too-shallow conversations. As the city's glow began to fade into the quiet of space, I took solace in the one thing that feels genuine: my Anitrax fandoms. 📺

Here, amidst the curated chaos, I find my escape in the form of my favorite shows like "Celestial Shadowriders of the Technosoul" and "Nebula Knights". I let myself be swept away by their stories, their characters, their worlds. It's pure, it's genuine, and it's mine. 🌠

And the best part? The cosplay. 😁 There's nothing like transforming into my favorite characters, stepping into their shoes, their lives—even if only for a while. Today, I donned the cosmic armor of a Nebula Knight, reveling in the fantastic, far-off world of my favorite Anitrax. I lost myself in the detailed craftsmanship of the costume, the elaborate makeup, the theatrical poses. It was liberating, empowering.

I had to get back to my ship ASAP, since I was due for flight time at 6pm. After a long day of space-hopping, a spa facial, an hologram dance party and a little hangtime (aka a long walk down the Galactic Plaza), there's no way I was going to go to my spaceship without a little glow up. 🌝

So, as I looked at my space-lava facial in zero-g one more time, I sang to myself the Nebula Knight themesong, "Yuhuhuhuhhuhuhuhhh, by nebulae bright and dark, deep and true we call hearts to power, we call yoooooou." ♫♬♩♫
