Momutie gave a menacing grin at the ensuring party. "Well, isn't this quite a sight." Arriving into the Rainboyal halls was Protlyn, Mercy, Sway and Theo, twelve Jezinkahs behind them in an orderly march, Mika among the colorful luminous legion of mooks. "Yeh. Es us betch." Sway answered as she glanced at Mercy, her face looking so serene despite the current circumstances.
Theo smiled back, before glancing towards Mika and whispering. "Don't be too hard newbies, Mika. Don't worry. You'll get the hang of it soon enough. You're one of us after all."
Mika, otherwise present as Jezinkah #7 snorted. "Like you're one to talk..
Teach."
Mercy sighed. "It's a long way, though. It's been a long time since I last set foot in this place." She shook her head as she thought about the old ways, the old memories. At one point she would've been devoured by all of this past, and now it was just a relic of what was, an old place that she'd moved on from. She let herself sink into these past moments, then breathed out and allowed them to fade past.
"Gertrude, my Sugardear. How.. sweet to see your arrival once more." Queen Momutie said, attempting to old an intensity to her words that didn't quite carry. Mercy glared at her, she wasn't afraid. Mercy felt something in her heart at the sight of the other girl, her underling Mika. She felt like she did years ago when they first met, in the Jezinkah school. The students of Hemlock Grove looked up to her, she couldn't let them down.
Mercy turned back to the older Khepri Glimmer Kiss queen and shook her head, "Sugardear? Seriously?" She rolled her eyes, but it felt like there was a small smile forming on her lips. "Gee, thanks for giving me such a warm welcome, Queen Momutie. How sweet." She glared at the Queen of the Rainboyals, the usurper of Feyslayer "What is it with you these days? Have you been stalking me? Or planning to feed me to a giant snake, I guess? I'm so not falling for your tricks again." It took all her strength not to reach out and throttle the queen right there.
Momutie smiled "Well, if you're here to attack me, I'll be courteous and let you take a free blo-". It was meant as a jest, but that didn't stop it from sounding like a threat. "None of that." Mercy interrupted. "We're not here to fight. Atleast not your empire." Theo walked behind her and addressed the queen. "Your syrupy awfulness, if I may. There is quite a substantial threat to this world on the way. To the Celestial Society, to its Solar satellite, and to your people. Sure we can work together without resorting to violence?" He shoved Sway slightly. "A Vexia Seed is no joke. But you Khepri would know that first hand, wouldn't you." His words came like a serpent's tongue spitting venom at her.
Sway mouth drooled slightly.
"You dare bring a Zes-Lethiska into our sacred sugar palace? I'd never work with rotten saboteurs like you, least of all the despicable Shadow King. Seize them!"
8 Grand Meisters ran forward. With a bulletspeed rush and single swipe of her arm, Mercy punched and smacked half of them against the wall. The others Sway opened her mouth and flash froze and then dispatched with a crackling of electric discharges from her horns. The other Grand Meisters watched the Jezinkahs surround them. The Queen reached for her staff, but a barrier formed around it, she looked over at Theo raising his hands and levitating the royal staff towards himself to catch.
Mercy was infuriated. "You think we came to cooperate, to work together? This is not a partnership, this is a hostile takeover." She walked to Momutie and pulled out a vial of black goop from the Void Realm, uncorking it. Mika could smell the faint smell of oily rubber and grape from here.
"This is not a partnership." She held it close in Momutie's face. "I will be assuming control of Glitter Kiss, its armies, meisters and people from this day forth. The Vexia is on its way, and we WILL stop it with or without you. Become my follower, or perish."
Momutie smirked, "Well, I see you learned the value of negotiation." The tension in the air sharpened. "Serve under my own daughter? That's atrocious nonsense."
Theo sneezed. "Excuse you."
Momutie smiled, her prideful smirk widening as Mercy had heard enough of her nonsense before. "You'd rather have someone work under you who you can get rid of easily, than someone who sticks around and is a threat, right?" The blood boiled in her veins, but she would not show it, would not show weakness in front of these people. The sheer thought of being transmuted into her disgusting glossy fiends repulsed her.
Mercy started stepping forward towards the Queen. "It's alright. You were never any threat to me, mom-utie. I'm sorry I never noticed this. I was too busy hating on you, but now I see you for who you truly are. A sad excuse for a person, who is only trying to make an empire." The two then exchanged a look of false sympathy.
"We do it your way." She said ambiguously. "You choose."
Everyone went silent while the Queen made her decision, and slapped the vial
out of Mercy's hand, snubbing her nose at sweetest princess Gertrude.
Mercy clenched her fist. "Your will has no meaning, so your rules don't mean anything either." Mercy called over to Sway to leap beside and hugged her. "Remember when you said I'd never be Queen, mother mutie? That you'd die before I ever sat on your fancy chair. Well... atleast one of those is true." She snapped her fingers. "Then let me introduce you to one of your biggest mistakes."
She stepped aside and Sway opened her mouth, teeth like rows of ivory daggers. Her horns expanded, her body stretched and multiple limbs grew out. The Zes-Lethiska leapt at the Queen. Everyone turned away, as the shadows on the wall danced with the fury of Momutie's screams, the wry gnashing and horrific tearing echoing throughout the halls.
Her flesh melted as Sway chewed it, and the blood spilled over her mouth.
Rainboyal Queen Momutie Patooti was no more.
She swallowed hearty and full, then belched out a crown.
Mercy went over, wiped it off with her skirt and placed it atop her head.
She hopped on the throne.
Her eyes darted back to Mika, and the Jezinkah began bowing. The others followed suit, and eventually after looking at each other in fear, the remaining guards and Grand Meister's did aswell.
Addressing them, she eyed the spilt vial as its contents multiplied, forming a
growing lake in the courtroom of latex contagion.
"You all deserve a drink. I won't let you down when you're parched! Show
your new queen some loyalty."
The Meister's stood in shock, before they bent in and slurped or swam in the pool. She watched them sink into the muck, their bodies contorting and distorting, encased permanently into the ichor. When they were all done, they stood as identical Jezinkahs, from the latex cowls and horns to their bodysuits and squeaky limbs.
Mercy smiled. "My new little helpers, so to speak. Now please, begin preparing a gala ball. Invite all of Glitterkiss and every Jezinkah to the city. I'd like to celebrate tonight as my coronation night."
Protlyn sasheyed over and hugged the new Queen. "My baby's first
insurrection! I'm so proud of you.."
