3.8|No looking back
Mercy and Protlyn stepped back into the hut, Mercy looking at her arm shaking. The latter whispered into her daughter's ear. "Remember, keep this a secret for the time being.. We have to keep the Masquerade from the world afterall."
Mercy nodded. "Y-yes mother.." She felt knots tying in her heart, before going
to slap Sway off the kitchen table. "Sway! Off!"
"Whaauzit? Uggh, wuz just nappin', geez." She grit her razor sharp teeth at Mercy, before stopping. "Yu smell.. 'ery differant.." She licked Mercy's cheeks, the blond blushing and feeling her body light up in so many different ways she never knew could.
"Yu ok? Or diz was bad?" Sway could see the girl struggling to compose herself.
"Miss Protas- er, Protlyn!" A women in a black cowl ran in. The lady of dawn
gasped. "It's Torayl, and Anne! They've-!!!"
Following the shadow-covered dirt path away from the sun, the two siblings
ran as far as they could.
"Anne, maybe we should go back." Torayl told his sister, his ashen hair blown
by the dark waves of wind breezing through the thick woods.
"We cannot stay there! You know that woman's crazy right? Most woman don't turn into 2 different wives! They don't cast spells or do weird magic! She's some kind of witch, some evil witch who kidnapped us! It's probably her that cursed us to have talons at night and grow friggin beak!" Anne insisted, brown-red hair appearing a shade of burnt cinnamo. Her brother carried a bindle stick, looking around at the turbulent unknown of nature that faced them ahead. "Besides, you saw what sister and Sway can do! We've always seen it! They're monsters, devils even, raised by a witch! We have to leave and stop them before they destroy this world with their magic!"
Torayl was tugged along by Anne's strong grip, she'd always been the most assertive of the 3 of them. "Patience! We don't even have enough bread to last the week, how do you intend to take on a witch then? Pray tell, you don't even know magic."
"Oh, don't I?" Anne pulled a textbook out of her backpack. "I stole this from Marcy's room.." She stuck out her tongue. "Don't really understand alot of it yet, but it's never too late to start learning!"
She began to flip through the pages, pointing out various lines and circles and
symbols to her brother.
"I didn't know you can do spells?" Torayl asked, his voice slightly panicked.
"Not yet, I just read it and tried to make it work. I have a feeling that one day I might be able to." Anne's gaze turned on her brother, her voice hard and her eyes black. "Torayl, it's our destiny. Our family is cursed. You must stop Mercy and Protlyn, before the world ends. We have to become strong and save this world!"
Her brother shrugged. "I don't know if that's true. But.." He stuck out his finger, a six-winged butterfly landing on his finger, glowing with beautiful ambience. "Staying in that house was driving me mad with boredom.. I've always wanted to go exploring. Maybe I can take a few more notes out here.."
