Plagupolis Arc of Return, Ring 2
Plagupolis Arc of Return, Ring 2
is the land from which Zanya an artificial biodroid from Floor 12619, hails. She appears to about 16 years of age despite her mechanical model being nearly 3 decades old. Truer to her appearance, Zanya showed anti authoritative and displayed defiance towards our crew, reluctant to answer many questions and cooperate with interviews. Her origin stems from the Biodroid "Didactic Retention Utility Gynoid Housing Terawatt Engine-Reactor Simulacrum", or the D.A.U.G.H.T.E.R.S projected, hosted by her "Mother's" corporation, Plagupolis Inc as an endevor to create self-learning and systematic countervail measures within their own self-correcting political and technological mechanisms. A Biodroid able to age artificially and learn organically, abit the former much regressed and with indefinite longevity, Zanya was made in a factory and birthed in an artificial silicone womb. Upon stepping out she resembled an ordinary human, minus the bio-synthetic dark fuchsia hair. Raised as an ordinary girl within the outskirts of Plagupolis, Zanya grew up in an old abandoned watchtower with her 'mother' Amelia, a simple housemother in an apron, and wife of Plagupolis owner Pathogenia Everworth, head director of the D.A.U.G.H.T.ER.S. project.
With little socialization or contact with the city, Zanya spent most of the time playing various videogames and consoles bought for her by Amelia, and occasionally doing chores, taking on the role of a seemingly moody but conventional teenage girl. Zanya reports occasionally playing a metal guitar, and writing in a pink diary. She was, on her report thrusted into a world of 'neverending hysteric bullshit' when a strange helicopter drone crashed through her window after beating the highscore of an unnamed game. The drone came with equipment commonly contained in the readjustment and remodeling centers of the city, where citizens and hires of Plagupolis (effectively, the entire city) would go to be repurposed, coated, and reassigned their new model numbers as permanent employees of the city's infrastructure. Unlike ordinary synth-skin stretch coatings and nanite sprays which are designed to graft citizenry into perfect models of corporate efficiency and work units, the process Zanya went through was symbolically benign, yet technologically loftier. Zanya was suited in a stretchy, slick yet indestructible mauve shaded suit with multiple sockets along the arms, chest, hips and waist.
With her game console destroyed, Zanya was forced on a long mission to stop an army of rogue mechanical beastroids and their leader, the 'Midnight Fairy', an impish 2' rogue engineering drone dressed in purple robes and pointed hat, responsible for building stolen models from Plagupolis Inc and letting them loose on the city. Enabling her to do so, her suit's various augmentations and upgrades discovered were themed after animal components, technological devices and augmentations making use of the Synth-skin and elastic, yet tensile material, Zanya has the found to means to turn herself into differing lustrous, smooth zoological shapes, while maintaining a cannon zoological for shooting down obstacles. Rudimentary forms Zanya showcased to the crew included a Rhino, gorilla, pterodactyl, mink, dolphin and 'pink unicorn'. It's noted by radiographic analysis that while stretched, suited and augmented, the original biomechanistry and structure of Zanya remains completely intact, the synthetic material merely reutilizing its properties in accordance with her needs- an inverse application of the usage on the common cityfolk who are remolded in accordance with their company's demands as a hiring requirement.
After dabbling with the Midnight Fairy, Zanya was thrusted into a series of high-profile incidents. Zanya would return a time later after supposedly "Brainwashing" Zanya's sister, Malena (Ma•Lay•Na), a companion model, only to find the object of the two's aims aligned, and a tense sibling rivalry began. Further incidents often pit Zanya against, to her discovery, her creator and other mother, Pathogenia Everworth, usually from wayward occurrences via outside forces, from rival companies attempting to compete with the mega-corporation, rebels and refugees, 'The Sandman' a luddite who espouses views to shut off all power and electrical devices (her included), 'Clock master', a deranged fired technician wanting to put the city on a loop, and on rare occasion her own creator-Mother. Zanya's relationship with her mother is often tense and quite complicated. While Zanya holds no disdain for her mother's ambitious career or her efficient methods of structured staffing, restaffing, molding and human re-resource departments, she finds Pathogenia's nagging quite annoying and is constantly making excuses not to ever 'be permanently employed', believing a job as a corporate heiress cramps her parsimonious and prima donna style. Over her suit, Zanya prefers hoodies, beanies, leggins and jeans and the occasional techno-color headsets.
She shows disdain for her little sister Malena's attitudes towards their mother, which end up displaying appeasement and currying favor or "Sucking up" as Zanya puts it. Malena allegedly desires to rule the Plagupolis corporation and city someday, whereas Zanya values her freedom. On reaching out for Malena for comment, she declares Zanya as a sister who "Never takes you seriously, never wants anything to do with you, and think always knows better than you!" from her intern office. Zanya would also learn of many of her other siblings, but unlike her rebellious sister. Zanya finds humans, anthros and organics quite 'dull' and as shown in our reports, displays complete disinterest in their plight. When asked about the work her mother does, she responded, "Dunno? Innit kinda my mom's company? If I gottem, what games would I play? Plus mom would kill me.", it's unclear if 'gottem' means to dismantle or inherit, but context seems to suggest she doesn't care either way. She's been reportedly asked by both her mother's recruiters to head divisions of their corporation and 'rebel outlaws' asking her to join the resistance against said corporation, both of which she scoffs at and has outright refused on principle. Zanya claims she mostly enjoys hanging out, playing videogames, guitar, sometimes skateboarding to running a corporate empire or dealing with a class revolution.
Zanya commonly finds herself fighting against her mother for oddball reasons as she does working with her in her own interest. Of aesthetic note, Plagupolis appears to be a tourist hotspot within its respective floor, although those overseeing their visas are charged with immediately unconditional employment, suiting and restationing. A tour through these factories, was an exemplary display of both efficiency on the production line, and in another floor a display of new hires processed on assembly lines, given the finest nanite paint, cyberized implants, reprogramming and factory rubber body-packaging throughout. The buildings are bright saturated shades, robotic patrol drones give an air of business to the city, and attractions throughout remind one of a themepark, stretched all the way across. Rail-lines atop said buildings go through the highrises, tall district platforms and around the metropolis. Both holograms and giant statues with strobe lights can be seen at night of the city's chief entrepreneur, Pathogenia Everworth herself in all her crimp suited, pouf haired shoulderpadded glory.
